For NEW businesses:  The standard fee for a new City business license is $50*, unless the business entity does not have an established premises in the Fairbanks North Star Borough and provides one-time or intermittent contractual products or services within the City limits.  In such cases, the business license fee shall be calculated based upon the estimated gross receipts of the products/services provided under each contract.

For business license RENEWALS:  City business license renewal fees are based upon the gross receipt earnings of the business within the City limits from the prior year, regardless of the number of physical locations within the City limits.   Business license renewals received by the City Clerk's Office on or after March 1 are subject to a $50 penalty.

*Note: Starting April 1, 2024, the City of Fairbanks will charge a 2.9% convenience fee on credit and debit card transactions not related to garbage collection.
