About Us

IAED ACE

The Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center is recognized by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatchers (IAED) as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE). According to the IAED, "ACE designation is reserved for high-performing agencies that consistently put in the work to achieve excellence. It’s a distinguished award and badge of honor for those who go all-in to cultivate center-wide pride, teamwork, and innovation by putting their communities first."

All dispatchers with FECC are cross trained for police, fire and medical dispatching.  Our training consists of a two months long dispatch academy, with numerous classes developed by the IAED. IAED provides ongoing training programs that require testing of dispatchers every two years.  This ensures that dispatchers are up to date on the latest information and life saving techniques available.
